A friend of ours, a Viet Nam veteran, told us recently that he and his family tried to only buy American for a solid year. This was a few years ago when the situation was not as dire as it is now. "And we just could not do it."
Part of the problem was that they did not use the Internet to search out American companies or buy on-line so they were stuck with local stores (though in one of the largest cities in the United States.)
