BESIDES FLORIDA, CALIFORNIA is suffering: "California cities are struggling too. Riverside, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, are suffering because of the knocks they took after their inflated housing markets began to plummet. Unemployment in the City of Angels has nearly tripled in three years, to 12%. Riverside's unemployment has also ballooned, to 15%. Meanwhile Sacramento saw a 75% drop in new building permits. These are troubling signs for Cali metros, but not surprising. The end of the state's home-price climb triggered more than just a housing slump."

NEW ORLEANS REBUILDING WITH CHINESE DRYWALL ANOTHER DISASTER

NEW ORLEANS – Thousands of U.S. homes tainted by Chinese drywall should be gutted, according to new guidelines released Friday by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The guidelines say electrical wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, fire alarm systems, carbon monoxide alarms, fire sprinklers, gas pipes and drywall need to be removed.

"We want families to tear it all out and rebuild the interior of their homes, and they need to start this to get their lives started all over again," said Inez Tenenbaum, chairwoman of the commission, the federal agency charged with making sure consumer products are safe.

There are still LEGAL IMMIGRATION OPTIONS for people who want to come to the United States from other nations and work here and give up their allegiance to their old country and be Americans with us!

As you know, this blog is against Illegal Immigration. The Farm workers struggle for fair pay for back breaking work often falls into the category of "JOBS AMERICANS WON'T DO" That is if you are President Bush. We aren't for exploiting people... and we WANT THE COST OF GROCERIES TO REMAIN LOW don't we? SO WHAT GIVES? We have programs that allow some immigrants to become citizens faster because they take work like this, but once they are citizens guess what they are to be paid? MINIMUM WAGE.

Oh this problem is complicated.

Who is really at fault? We want to eat a variety of foods including fruits and vegetables... right? Organic?

(We have heard of exploitive ones who make promises, take your money, and leave you illegal and that really truly stinks!) Then take the steps to work legally and eventually become an American Citizen!

Some people are kind of irked by ethnic celebrations such as parades that honor one certain ethnicity. Right now I ask you this: MAKE YOUR COSTUMES or BUY AMERICAN hats, shamrocks, and the rest... and I don't know what to tell you about the green dyed beer.

OUR HOMELESS VETERANS NEED JOBS

I'm not sure why the homeless include a great number of veterans. Some people say they come back from the military - from war - having "cracked." But I think there may be more to it than that. There is a prejudice against disabled people in general when it comes to employment.

THIS IS SOMETHING WE HAVE THE POWER TO REDO! We believe that it is better for an employer to hire a DISABLED PERSON here in the United States than to export the work to India or somewhere else!

This is a tough one we know, but we are sure there ARE INCENTIVES FOR HIRING THE DISABLED!
